Egg Kathi Roll but WITHOUT AN EGG..!
A kati/kathi roll is one of the street-food originated from Kolkata. In Bengal, “Kathi means a stick” .Hence a form of roll with stuffing varying place to place wrapped in paratha bread. The recipe here shows steps to make the said roll with a healthy twist..!
Ingredients
Plantmade Vegan Egg | |
1 cup All Purpose Flour | |
Tomatoes, Red, Ripe Raw | |
1 block Tofu Raw, Firm | |
1 oz Peppers Capsicum, Red, Raw | |
Onion Raw | |
Salt | |
Lemon Juice, Raw Fresh Squeezed |

Pre-Preparation
Preparation of paratha
- Knead the dough (maida)
- cut it into balls
- roll them and make half cooked parathas on the pan.
Cooking Instructions
Step 1:

Preparation of tomato puree : Boil the tomatoes until they becomes thick gravy like.
Step 2:

Preparation of filling :
Leave sliced onions and capsicums to sweat and then add finger sized cut tofu in the same pan. Add tomato puree and salt to the mixture. Saute them for a minute.
Step 3:

Preparation of plant based vegan egg :
Pour the Plantmade egg on a pan, let it cook for sometime.
Step 4:

After the egg is slightly cooked, smear the pre-prepared paratha so that it sticks well with the egg. Cook both for sometime on a pan.
Step 5:

Assemble the roll:
Add the filling on the paratha stuck plant based egg and top it with onions and squeeze few drops of lemon to add in the taste.!
Step 6:

Wrap the roll in an aluminum foil and enjoy your fully vegan kathi roll..!
